Artist's Description

At Los Poblanos Farms near Albuquerque, New Mexico, workers harvest lavender by hand. Cutting of the lavender starts early in the morning before the sun becomes too intense. When I see this image, I am reminded of a quote by William Bryant: "The air was fragrant with a thousand trodden aromatic herbs, with fields of lavender, and with the brightest roses blushing in tufts all over the meadows..."
